Lost Tails Animal Rescue is located near Seymour, MO (thats near Springfield). We recieved our Missouri Department of Agriculture license in 2006.
For many years, our family has been involved in rescue in one way or another. Since my mom and dad live in the "woods", they and thier neigbors have animals dumped constantly. Many of these animals never make it to the safety of a human being who cares. Dogs are domestic animals and will not fend for themselves is abandoned. This sad misconception means that beautiful animals die from starvation or from predators. We felt the need to help those animals who found safety. Also, my mom and dad could not continue having twenty dogs at a time.
After a while, we began getting calls from a kind local animal control officer who hated killing adoptable dogs and puppies. We went to take a look and were hooked. There is nothing sadder than a puppy in a cage who doesn't understand why they are there.
Below we have a before and after pictures of Bubbie who was dropped off in the woods. He was days from starvation or worse. Sadly, his is not an isolated case. Not all dumped dogs are so lucky.
